Chinese Stories - Intermediate 1.6.1

If you are studying Mandarin Chinese, our monthly E-books offer a rich learning experience.

We currently provide two levels of E-book collection: Elementary and Intermediate. An Advanced level is planned for release in six months. You can select the appropriate E-book based on your language proficiency.

The vocabulary and language structure are tailored to align with official standards. All Simplified Chinese texts correspond to the New HSK (Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi) levels in Mainland China. The Elementary level matches New HSK level 3, while the Intermediate level corresponds to New HSK level 4.

For the Traditional Chinese version, words are carefully selected based on the TOP (Test of Proficiency-Huayu) standard in Taiwan. Our Elementary level aligns with the TOP elementary proficiency, and the Intermediate level aligns with TOP intermediate proficiency.

Each E-book comprises 12 stories, with every story containing 450-500 Chinese characters.

• Click on a colored word to access its English definition, pinyin pronunciation, part of speech, example sentences, and HSK/TOP proficiency level.
• Select "More" to explore alternative meanings of the same word.
• Save unfamiliar words for later review.
• Click on hyperlinks for proper nouns like locations or famous names to delve into Chinese geography, culture, and history while diving into Chinese narratives.
• Access full English translations and pinyin for each story.
• Track your learning progress with a five-question quiz after each story, evaluating your comprehension and recording your initial quiz results.
• Listen to the audio version of each story to enhance your listening skills and familiarize yourself with standard Chinese pronunciation.
